BUYERS BEWARE!! My daughter and I drove 45 minutes to Auto Union to look at a Honda Accord. The car looked great on the surface, so we dove it to Murfreesboro to our mechanic at Hackett Brothers. (it had NO gas so we had to put gas in it- that should have been a clue) Make sure you DO NOT BUY any car from this business without taking it to a reputable mechanic.
The car was leaking at the head gasket, radiator fluid was spilling into areas of the motor where it should not, AND THE CARS COMPUTER HAD BEEN WIPED> Yes, ERASED> Had the computer not been wiped we would have seen check engine lights.
We drove back to Auto Auction and I calmly pulled the salesman aside from other customers he was working with and told him about the mechanics findings.
He acted oblivious to this. "Wow, usually inspections come back fine " He took a photo of the mechanics report and stated he would talk to the owner and ask him to call me because I asked for them to reimburse me the $160.00 my daughter spent on the mechanic inspection.
Well, I am certain that they knew the car was leaking fluids as it is in their lot and that is why they wiped the computer.
Needless to say, I never got a call.
I understand buying a used car is AS IS, but this is a sneaky and immoral business practice.
This company wasted my day off, my daughters our time and our money.
